We had a 6am flight out of the Jacksonville airport. It was an international flight so we were supposed to be there two hours early -- that meant 4am. (On a side note, the airline counter didn't open until 5am...lesson learned for next time.) Anyway, we knew we needed to stay as close to the airport as possible to arrive at 4am with our kids.
After a quick search, we picked Hyatt Place Jacksonville due to the location and price. When you turn down Duval Road you begin to wonder if you've made a mistake. But fear not, this is a great hotel. It isn't fancy but it is clean and the rooms are large. The hotel has a modern feel to it. The lobby provides what appears to be an extensive breakfast, which is included in your room rate. Since we left the hotel before sunrise, we didn't partake in the full breakfast. However, they had out fresh fruits and cereals for us to grab on our way out the door.
The hotel is conveniently located near the airport as well as near a Town Center with lots of shopping and eating options. The hotel provides a shuttle as well.
TravelLady Rating: I certainly would not pick this hotel as a place to vacation. Yet, as a stopover or a hotel close to the airport, this is a winner.
